Packers Pick Up Darnell Savage's Fifth-Year Option
3 years agoThe Green Bay Packers picked up safety Darnell Savage's fifth-year option on Friday. The Packers also exercised linebacker Rashan Gary's fifth-year option. Savage started every regular season game last year and has started all 46 games he's played in in his first three NFL seasons in Green Bay. He wasn't quite as good last year, but he still had 63 tackles (48 solo), two interceptions and nine passes defensed while playing 96.2% of the team's defensive snaps. The 24-year-old from Maryland will continue to be a key contributor for the Packers secondary over the next two seasons. Savage was the 21st overall pick in the first round of the 2019 draft.
