Packers Plan To Play Their Starters In Week 18
3 years agoGreen Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said on Monday that he plans for his guys to play in Week 18 against the Detroit Lions. "Right now the mindset is we're going to play our guys, and we're going to approach it like any other game," LaFleur said. Don't take LaFleur's word for it. The Packers already have the No. 1 seed in the NFL and a first-round bye locked up, so they literally have nothing to play for this Sunday. On top of it, quarterback Aaron Rodgers could use a couple extra weeks to rest his fractured pinkie toe before the postseason. If Green Bay's starters do play, it'll likely only be for a series or two early in the game against the Lions. It'll be extremely risky to play any Packers starters in fantasy if you're still playing for a championship.
