Packers Preparing Short-Term Deal For Aaron Rodgers
3 years agoThe Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers' representation are working on a short-term deal should he decide to remain in Green Bay. It would be a short-term deal that would make Rodgers the highest-paid player in the NFL on a per-year basis. "Obviously everything around here centers around the quarterback. That's kind of how we do things," Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said on Feb. 23. Rodgers, 38, doesn't plan to drag out his decision, but says there is a lot to consider. Despite an early playoff exit, Rodgers won his second consecutive MVP award in 2021 and ended the year on good terms with team brass. Should he continue playing, the four-time MVP doesn't want to be part of a rebuild. If Rodgers is playing in 2022, wherever that may be, he should be a strong QB1 consideration in fantasy.
