Packers Sign Second-Rounder Christian Watson
2 years agoThe Green Bay Packers signed rookie second-round wide receiver Christian Watson to his four-year rookie deal on Wednesday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The 6-foot-4, 208-pounder out of North Dakota State didn't face top-level competition in college, but the Packers expect him to help replace Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown right away. The 23-year-old impressed the coaching staff this spring and should be a more consistent deep threat for Green Bay eventually. He's worth a late-round flier in much deeper fantasy leagues with quarterback Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball, and he might already have the most upside among a group of receivers that includes Allen Lazard and veterans Randall Cobb and Sammy Watkins, among others.
