4 years agoThe San Diego Padres have acquired starting pitcher Blake Snell from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for pitcher Luis Patino, catcher Francisco Mejia, infielder Blake Hunt and pitcher Cole Wilcox. Snell, the 2018 AL Cy Young award winner and all-star left hander, will join the projected Padres rotation consisting of right-handed starters Dinelson Lamet, Chris Paddack, and Zach Davies in 2021. Snell posted productive numbers throughout the shortened 2020 season, with totals of four wins, a 3.24 ERA, and 63 strikeouts through 50 innings of work in his 11 starts. Snell will remain one of the premier starters for fantasy baseball managers with this move to the National League, and the 28-year-old can safely be targeted in the early rounds of drafts next spring.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
