Padres Acquire Brandon Drury From The Reds
2 years agoThe San Diego Padres are acquiring infielder Brandon Drury from the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday, according to sources. It's unclear what the Padres sent to the Reds in exchange. Drury has seen the vast majority of his playing time in Cincinnati this year on the infield, mainly at the hot corner, but he has experience in the outfield as well. The 29-year-old has had a late-career resurgence in 2022, hitting .274/.335/.520 with a career-high 20 home runs, 59 RBI, 62 runs scored and two stolen bases in 385 plate appearances and 92 games. The move to San Diego isn't good news at all for Drury's fantasy value the rest of the way, as he'll be blocked at third by Manny Machado and at second base by Jake Cronenworth, but perhaps he'll see semi-regular at-bats in the outfield, where he has some experience as well.
