3 years agoThe San Diego Padres appear close to signing former CY Young award winner Jake Arrieta. Sadly, the days of Arrieta being an elite pitcher are far behind him. He posted a horrendous 6.88 ERA over 20 starts with the Chicago Cubs this season. The right-hander was released by the organization last week. The Padres could certainly use rotational help with Yu Darvish (back) currently sidelined. However, it's uncertain how much help Arrieta can offer any MLB team right now. Arrieta won't likely be a fantasy option in any formats regardless of where he signs.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
