3 years agoThe San Diego Padres placed outfielder Wil Myers (thumb) on the 10-day injured list with a right thumb contusion on Thursday and selected the contract of outfielder Trayce Thompson in a corresponding move. Myers' injured list stint will be retroactive to April 27. The Padres also moved right-hander Austin Adams to the 60-day injured list. Myers injured his right thumb on Tuesday against the Cincinnati Reds. Since then, Matt Beaty has started in right field in Myers' absence and should be the primary option to replace him while he's on the shelf, at least when the Padres face right-handed pitching. Myers is still searching for his first home run of the season and has gone just 12-for-59 (.218) with seven RBI and 19 strikeouts in his first 15 games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
