Joey Logano A Source Of Frustration Lately
2 years agoIt is not a secret that Joey Logano has been in a rut of late. He is far from the only driver but the Team Penske racer just has not put up the results. Logano does have three top-tens in his last six races at Pocono but has not truly contended. His best finish was seventh in that span. That is not much to hang one's hat on for the No. 22 Ford. Logano has finished outside the top-20 in his last three races. Even though he has two wins since May 1st, the driver has mostly struggled staying in the top ten consistently. Source: NASCAR.com
Chase Briscoe A Wildcard At Pocono
2 years agoChase Briscoe could be a real question mark at Pocono on Sunday. In his only two races, the Ford driver stayed around the 20's position-wise in each appearance. There was not much of a move up or down. However, he is in a faster car now and begins 13th on Sunday. What might happen? That is unknown. Briscoe may just slide back but what if he does not? This is the question with him. Some of the Ford cars and drivers for that matter have just not performed well lately too. One of them definitely has been Briscoe.

Aric Almirola Decent DFS Option At Pocono
2 years agoFew would know this but Aric Almirola has a better average finish in his last six races at Pocono than Kyle Larson. That's right. Almirola's 10.3 is a hair better. The Ford driver has three top-ten results and two top-fives which includes a third. The good news is that he has not finished below 16th either. Therefore, the Ford driver has had no DNF's on this track. He tends to stay out of trouble. With the Next-Gen car, will Almirola be able to buck last week's trend where the Toyota's were quite fast? Christopher Bell Starts 11th On Sunday At Pocono
2 years agoChristopher Bell was the sixth Toyota to qualify in the top 11 for Sunday afternoon's race at Pocono. Despite that, he could have one of the better hopes to win. Bell in two of the previous races was right near the front contending for the lead before disaster struck. First, there was that Kyle Larson incident. Last year, Bell was fourth after Stage 2 until he was hit again. Issues dropped him to 32nd. No one would be surprised if the Joe Gibbs Racing driver ran well here once more. His ability to master the "Tricky Triangle" may go a bit under the radar. Source: NASCAR.com
Kevin Harvick Starts In 10th
2 years agoKevin Harvick will be starting in 10th place on Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Harvick once again will need a win to clinch a playoff spot, or a great finish to be in striking distance to make it in on points alone. The race for the last two playoff spots are starting to heat up with drivers getting desperate. With stats of zero wins, four top-fives and 10 top-10 finishes this year, Harvick sits in 17th place, which is one spot out of the last playoff spot. Luckily for Harvick, New Hampshire has been one of his strongest tracks, as he has four wins there in his career. Harvick should be worth a look for fantasy lineups.Source: NASCAR
Brad Keselowski Will Start Ninth
2 years agoBrad Keselowski will start in ninth place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. For the first time in a while, Keselowski looks like he will have a solid day after qualifying in the top 10. Keselowski has fallen off a cliff in terms of his production, and he sits in 30th place in the standings with only two top-10 results this year. It is sad to see how much Keselowski has fallen off, with teammate Chris Buescher outperforming him. A win seems so unlikely that if he can pull off a victory, it will be one of the bigger upsets in a long time. Keselowski is not worth a look in fantasy on Sunday.Source: NASCAR
Kyle Larson Starts In Eighth Sunday
2 years agoKyle Larson will be starting in the eighth position at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. It's been a disappointing season for Larson, as he had 10 wins in 2021. He has only had one win to his name this season. With stats of one win, eight top-fives and 10 top-10 finishes, he currently sits in sixth place in the standings. Larson will also be looking for his first win at New Hampshire, and his best finish at the track was a runner-up showing in 2014. Larson will be looking for his second win of the season and to show fans that he can be the same driver he was last year. As always, Larson should be worth a look.Source: NASCAR
Aric Almirola Starts In Seventh Place
2 years agoAric Almirola will be starting in seventh place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. With each passing race, it's more and more likely that Almirola will need to win to make the playoffs. It is also important to note that Almirola won last season's race at New Hampshire. It could be promising for his quest to the playoffs in his final season. The veteran has stats of zero wins, two top-fives and six top-10 finishes this year, which is good enough for 18th place in the standings, two spots out of the final playoffs spot. If Almirola were to win on Sunday, it would most likely be the last win of his career. Almirola should be worth a look in fantasy.Source: NASCAR
William Bryon Starts In Sixth Place
2 years agoOn Sunday, William Bryon will start in sixth place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. It has been safe to say Bryon has been a different driver after the first nine races of the season. Since his last win at Martinsville, Bryon has only had one top-10 finish, which is not the best sign for a driver trying to aim for his first Cup Series championship. However, Bryon has stats of two wins, four top-fives and five top-10 finishes this year, which is good enough for fourth place in the current standings. Even with his struggles of late, Bryon is still in a good position for the playoffs, but he'll be a risky fantasy play on Sunday.Source: NASCAR
Christopher Bell Starts In Fifth
2 years agoHolding onto the last playoff spot, Christopher Bell will be starting in fifth place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. Yes, Bell would be the last driver in the playoffs and has a 19-point lead on Kevin Harvick, who is the first driver out as things stand now. Bell has stats of zero wins, four top-fives and 10 top-10 finishes this year. Bell will need a win to clinch a playoff spot, and he can easily miss the playoffs if he has a bad day at the track. Bell has been a consistent driver with double-digit top-10 finishes. Bell should be worth a look for fantasy rosters.Source: NASCAR
Bubba Wallace Starts In Fourth Sunday
2 years agoBubba Wallace will be looking for his second career win when he starts in fourth place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. It is safe to say Wallace is having another disappointing season. He only has stats of zero wins, one top-five and two top-10 finishes, which is good enough for 24th place in the standings. However, a win at New Hampshire can change his whole season, as he would clinch a spot in the playoffs. If Wallace were to make the playoffs, it would be the first time in his young career. Wallace will be nothing more than a very risky play for fantasy managers on Sunday.Source: NASCAR
Kurt Busch Starts In Third
2 years agoKurt Busch will be looking for his second win of the season when he starts in third place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. It could be possible for Busch to get his second win. He has had three wins at New Hampshire in his career, so it's safe to say this is one of his better tracks. However, his last win at New Hampshire came in 2008, so it's been 14 years since his previous win. Busch locked himself into the playoffs after he won at Kansas. His one win, five top-fives and seven top-10 finishes this year are enough to put Busch in 12th in the points standings. Busch should be worth a look at the magic mile.Source: NASCAR
Chase Elliott Starts On The Front Row
2 years agoChase Elliott will be looking to go back-to-back when he starts in second place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. He has been on fire in the last three races. Elliott has finished first, second and first, respectively. With stats of three wins, six top-fives and 13 top-10 finishes this year, it puts Elliott in first place in points. It looks like Elliott will have a career day at New Hampshire, as his best finish at the track was only a fifth-place showing back in 2018. If Elliott wins on Sunday, it would be one of the most incredible stretches in recent memory. Elliott should be one of the favorites to bring home the checkered flag.Source: NASCAR
Martin Truex Jr. Grabs The Pole
2 years agoLooking to clinch a playoff spot, Martin Truex Jr. will be starting on the pole at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. Still in search of his first win of the season, Truex has the best chance to get that win he needs to clinch a playoff spot. As of right now, Truex sits in 15th place in the standings, which is only two spots away from not even being in the playoffs. It is also essential to note that Truex has a 62-point gap on Kevin Harvick, who is currently the first driver out. Truex is looking for his first win at New Hampshire and his best finish, which was a third-place showing. Truex should 100% be worth a look in fantasy.Source: NASCAR
Cole Custer Could Stump The Pundits Again
2 years agoCole Custer and his Ford start all the way down in 23rd for Sunday's Ambetter 301. However, he does have an average finish of 11.0 the last two appearances. The "Magic Mile" has been far kinder to him than most. Even last year, Custer did drop to 14th but ran in the top ten during most of the final stage. In 2020, he finished in 8th. Most of his places gained were on that final stage. Keep in mind, Custer was a good deal off the pace after Stage 2 both times. It is not how he starts but his Ford finishes. Even two years ago, Custer was gaining several tenths a second but ran out of laps. Source: NASCAR.com
