2 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram could be included in a "compelling package" to acquire Kevin Durant from Brooklyn, according to Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily Times. Although the Nets are remaining firm on its asking price for the multi-time All-Star, adding Ingram to the equation could be more than enough to make a deal happen. Unquestionably, the 24-year-old has played the best basketball of his career over his last three seasons in New Orleans. During that span, he's averaged 23.4 points, 5.6 boards, and 4.8 assists while shooting an acceptable 37.3% from deep. While Ingram is a capable fantasy producer, his inconsistency on the defensive end has been a minor hindrance for category managers. His inability to remain healthy also continues to be a problem.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Kristian Winfield

2 years agoBrooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant could consider a holdout during training camp if he's not traded by then, according to Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily Times. With governor Joseph Tsai openly supporting head coach Steve Nash and general manager Sean Marks, it appears less likely the multi-time All-Star will want to suit up for the Nets this season. However, with Brooklyn remaining firm on its hefty asking price, many teams around the league aren't as willing to make a deal, especially considering Durant's advanced NBA age. While Durant has proven to be one of the most impactful fantasy options over the years, managers may want to stay away from him until this situation is resolved.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Kristian Winfield

2 years agoPoint guard Quinn Cook has reportedly signed a one-year contract to join the Sacramento Kings for the 2022-23 season, per Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee. The 29-year-old has been well traveled since first joining the league in '16, with the Kings set to be his sixth professional franchise with whom he appears. Cook played part of last season for Lokomotiv Kuban in Russia, before signing on with the G League in February. A two-time NBA champion from his days with the Warriors and Lakers, Cook has averaged 6.4 points across 14.1 minutes per game throughout his career. With De'Aaron Fox and Davion Mitchell set to handle the vast majority of point guard duties, Cook is merely a depth piece for the Kings as they attempt to return to the postseason for the first time since 2005-06.--Jesse BorekSource: Jason Anderson

2 years agoIndiana Pacers center Myles Turner is reportedly in great shape after missing nearly half of last season. It sounds like Turner has fully recovered from his left foot stress reaction. That being said, Turner is ready to play and says that his playing time is very important to him. He noted that he has come to terms with the trade rumors. The Pacers are currently in rebuilding mode, but it doesn't sound like the team is ready to move on from the 26-year-old center. Although, Isaiah Jackson and Jalen Smith would see a spike in fantasy value, assuming Turner does get moved at some point.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: andscape.com

2 years agoThe Sacramento Kings have agreed to a one-year deal with forward Kent Bazemore. The veteran guard appeared in nearly 40 games with the Los Angeles Lakers last season. However, he only averaged 3.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, 0.9 assists over 14 minutes per game in LA. The 33-year-old has put together some decent seasons in the NBA. However, it's unlikely he'll be a fantasy contributor as long as the Kings can stay healthy. This roster is more on the rebuilding side of things, so Bazemore was just added as veteran depth.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Shams Charania

2 years agoNew York Knicks guard Derrick Rose is unlikely to get moved this offseason. The Knicks have been in trade discussions with the Utah Jazz. New York is reportedly attempting to get Donovan Mitchell, but have made it known that Rose is unavailable in trade talks. Rose is a long-time favorite of head coach Tom Thibodeau, so it's unlikely that the team moves Rose in any deals. The Knicks also want to keep some of their younger talent such as Quentin Grimes. Honestly, it's uncertain who the Knicks are willing to move, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect Mitchell to be in New York. However, Rose should be able to be a fantasy contributor with the Knicks, assuming he can stay healthy.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Tony Jones

2 years agoUtah Jazz center Udoka Azubuike could see a bigger role in the rotation heading into next season. The departure of Rudy Gobert has opened up significant minutes at the center spot in Utah. As of right now, rookie Walker Kessler is projected to be the starting big man. Although, Azubuike is basically the only backup on the roster right now. That means, he'll possibly see minutes in the 20s behind Kessler. The 22-year-old could make for an interesting late-round option in fantasy leagues, assuming he does get a bigger role next season.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Tony Jones

2 years agoHouston Rockets forward Kenyon Martin Jr. requested a trade back in June. While there haven't been any updates regarding a potential deal, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports several teams are monitoring the big man. The 21-year-old finished last season by averaging 8.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists across 79 games. Yet, he played considerably better as a starter, averaging 14.0 points and 8.5 boards (two appearances). If he remains with the Rockets, he'll likely remain buried behind Jabari Smith Jr., Alperen Sengun, and Tari Eason, among others, on the depth chart. However, if Martin gets a new home this season, his fantasy value could increase significantly.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Michael Scotto

2 years agoDallas Mavericks forward/center Christian Wood is excited to be with his new team. It shows as the 26-year-old has been focused on his conditioning level throughout the offseason. "I'm tired," said Wood, speaking at the Mavs Academy youth basketball camp, "I've been in the gym and pushing myself to exhaustion this whole time I've been here." The big man was traded from the Rockets in June after inking a three-year, $41 million contract with Houston in November 2020. Wood has been a potent fantasy producer over the last few years, and he finished the 2021-22 campaign by averaging 17.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks while shooting an impressive 39.0% from behind the arc. Yet, his inability to remain healthy remains a concern for fantasy managers. However, if the UNLV alum can stay on the floor, he should continue to be a double-double threat. His efficient percentage from deep is an added bonus for category participants.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: WFAA

2 years agoMiami Heat guard Tyler Herro isn't a lock to remain with the team moving ahead, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. With Miami still in the market to make an offseason move, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year would certainly sweeten any deal for a superstar. The 22-year-old is coming off the best season of his career, finishing the 2021-22 campaign by averaging 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while netting 39.9% of his tries from downtown. His defensive acumen has been criticized heavily, and he's also missed plenty of time with injuries over the years. However, Herro is a proven producer on the offensive end and is capable of being a regular option for fantasy managers, regardless if he works his way into the starting rotation or continues to come off the bench.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Ira Winderman

2 years agoDallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic has been focused on his training regimen this offseason. Undoubtedly, the 23-year-old is among the most talented superstars in the NBA. However, his weight and conditioning levels have been scrutinized over the years. He's also battled numerous injuries and has yet to play an entire season since being drafted in 2018. Doncic finished the 2021-22 campaign by averaging 28.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, 8.7 assists, and 1.1 steals. His shooting from deep could use some work, and it would be nice if he stayed healthy for the majority of any given year. Still, despite Doncic's few downfalls, he has an excellent chance of finishing the season as the league's Most Valuable Player. He should also draw serious consideration to be the No. 1 option for managers during most fantasy drafts heading toward October.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Jack Winter

2 years agoMiami Heat guard Duncan Robinson could be shipped if the team manages to make a move ahead of the regular season, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. While trade rumblings have been quiet as of late, primarily after Miami appeared committed to landing Kevin Durant or Donovan Mitchell, Winderman points to Robinson's current contract as a pivotal piece to any potential deal if negotiations ramp up. Unquestionably, the Heat would love to move on from the 28-year-old and his hefty contract, especially after he regressed in all statistical categories in 2021-22. Nonetheless, although the former Michigan Wolverine isn't a lock to be a consistent contributor on the fantasy end this season if he remains in South Beach, his outlook may improve if he suits up for a new club.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Ira Winderman

2 years agoFree-agent forward Deividas Sirvydis agreed to a one-year deal with the Pacers on Saturday. The 2019 second-round pick has appeared in only 23 games throughout his career, averaging 1.9 points and 1.5 rebounds. He'll be battling for a spot during training camp. However, even if Sirvydis makes the regular season roster, he's not expected to see much playing time.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Michael Scotto

2 years agoHouston Rockets guard Eric Gordon could remain with the team for the foreseeable future, with NBA insider Michael Scotto reporting that "there's no urgency to trade him." The veteran is coming off a down year, finishing with averages of 13.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.0 boards. However, after shooting 32.9% from deep in 2020-21, he ended last year by netting 41.2% of his attempts from downtown, the second-best mark of his career. Nonetheless, Gordon still has enough fantasy value to keep him relevant. While he may not be a consistent starter for the club this season, he should receive his fair share minutes. Yet, the 33-year-old will need to stay healthy, which has been an issue throughout his time in the league.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Ben DuBose

2 years agoBoston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (shoulder) reported he "feels a lot better" after injuring his right shoulder during the Eastern Conference Finals. The 24-year-old credits rest for his recovery, so it doesn't appear he'll have any issues entering training camp. Tatum is coming off his best year to date, compiling 26.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.0 steals across 76 games last season. Unquestionably, his name will be mentioned as an MVP favorite ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. Assuming Tatum remains healthy, he has top-five fantasy potential in all formats.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Justin Quinn
