2 years agoRyan Palmer seems to have found his form heading to the Detroit Golf Club. He has posted back-to-back top-35 finishes, placing 31st at the 3M Open last week and 16th at the Scottish Open. He has been great from the tee box, gaining strokes off the tee in six of his last seven events. Palmer has not played the Rocket Mortgage before, so he does lack course knowledge. However, the Detroit Golf Club has historically played easy, making course history less important. He is a proven PGA Tour winner and will not attract any ownership in DFS despite his affordable price in most formats. Palmer may not be the most intriguing option, but he does provide a lot of upside and an opportunity to roster a reliable player at a low ownership number.--Dalton Finkbeiner - RotoBallerSource: https://www.pgatour.com/

2 years agoGary Woodland heads to Detroit fresh off a missed cut at The Open Championship during his last start. Woodland has been inconsistent of late, missing the cut in three of his last five events. He has played this tournament twice, failing to make the cut both times. Despite him being out of form and a lack of success at this event, Woodland is a good fit for this course. Historically, the Rocket Mortgage Classic has favored bombers. Woodland ranks 21st in driving distance in the field and is 30th in strokes gained off the tee over the past 50 rounds. He also ranks 31st in strokes gained on par-fives, proving he can take advantage of the scoring holes at the Detroit Golf Club. He won't attract much ownership in DFS and feels like a good leverage play this week. He is a bit of a risk, but Woodland provides a lot of upside and a discounted ownership number.--Dalton Finkbeiner - RotoBallerSource: https://www.pgatour.com/

2 years agoMaverick McNealy had a nice tournament going at the 3M Open last week. Then the final two holes came. The bogey for the American golfer was a harbinger of things to come. On 18, McNealy took a nine err quadruple bogey. Dropping five shots knocked McNealy out of the top 25. It was that much of a fall. Expect kind of more of the same this week possibly. He is good off the tee and gains nearly fourth tenths of a stroke with the putter (32nd on tour). The problem is his average game everywhere else is more erratic than it looks. If he can keep composed, McNealy could lurk around, however. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

2 years agoSi Woo Kim has had quite an interesting season. The South Korean golfer bounced back from two missed cuts to finish tied for 15th at "The Open". Kim was around the top ten most of the tournament before a final round 73. The putter had been doing quite well for him all week but it was his flop shot that garnered all the praise. Off the tee and around the green, Kim is a top-40 golfer but his below average putting may be more problematic this week. The Rocket Mortgage Classic course might not be the best for him but Kim has shown some unexpected results - a 13th at Valero in April comes to mind.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

2 years agoBrendan Steele has had a strong start to the summer. He has yet to miss a cut since the Honda in February. Steele also recorded two straight top ten finishes at The PGA Championship and The Memorial. Steele's fine play is likely best attributed to his tee-to-green game. He has now gained strokes tee-to-green in eight straight starts. Steele figures to be highly owned. His recent form is too strong to ignore. He is a recommended play in cash and GPPs. --Rob Giltner - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoChez Reavie won the Barracuda Championship last week, totalling 43 points. Reavie recorded a crucial up and down from the bunker on 17 and pared 18 to beat Alex Noren by one point. Reavie's win should not be a surprise. Although he missed the cut at The John Deere, he did finish in eighth place at The Travelers and 27th place at The Charles Schwab. Reavie has boasted a strong approach play in his recent success. He is worth consideration in DFS. --Rob Giltner - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years ago Sungjae Im has underperformed in his last two starts. After a tenth place finish at The Memorial, Im missed the cut at The U.S. Open and The Scottish Open. He also struggled at The Open. Im could be a good candidate to bounce back this week. Although he has had poor play, he has hit the ball well lately. Over the last 24 rounds, Im ranks fifth in green in regulation gained and 11th in strokes gained off-the-tee. Some recency bias could be in play for Im. He makes for a good DFS option this week. --Rob Giltner - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoCam Davis comes into the 3M Open off back-to-back top-10 finishes at the John Deere Classic and Barracuda Championship. For Davis, it's also his fourth top-10 finish in his last eight starts. Davis has been incredible with his irons, a major reason for his recent success. In his last two top-10 finishes, Davis has hit over 75% of greens in both starts. Davis also has nice history at the 3M Open. Davis has played in every 3M Open so far and has made two of three cuts, both in the last two seasons. Davis finished inside the top 15 in 2020 and inside the top 30 in 2021. Davis will have a more-than-fair DFS price this week and should be considered by everyone in all fantasy contests.--Kasey Kuhrts - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoGreyson Sigg seems to have found his game after a rough stretch to begin the summer. Sigg has made the cut in back-to-back events, posting top-30 finishes at the John Deere Classic and the Barbasol. Before that, Sigg had missed the cut in five straight events. Even when he has struggled, Sigg has always been solid from the tee box. He has gained strokes off the tee in four straight events and ranks 37th in the field in fairways gained over the past 50 rounds. Sigg shouldn't be counted on to record a big-time finish, however. His best result so far this season is his 16th-place finish at the John Deere. He is very cheap in DFS and will not be a popular option. Sigg is a player that can be rostered if you are trying to find a cheap option to fill out fantasy lineups, but expecting Sigg to contend at the 3M Open is a stretch.--Dalton Finkbeiner - RotoBallerSource: https://www.pgatour.com/
