Gary Woodland A Good Course Fit At Rocket Mortgage
2 years agoGary Woodland heads to Detroit fresh off a missed cut at The Open Championship during his last start. Woodland has been inconsistent of late, missing the cut in three of his last five events. He has played this tournament twice, failing to make the cut both times. Despite him being out of form and a lack of success at this event, Woodland is a good fit for this course. Historically, the Rocket Mortgage Classic has favored bombers. Woodland ranks 21st in driving distance in the field and is 30th in strokes gained off the tee over the past 50 rounds. He also ranks 31st in strokes gained on par-fives, proving he can take advantage of the scoring holes at the Detroit Golf Club. He won't attract much ownership in DFS and feels like a good leverage play this week. He is a bit of a risk, but Woodland provides a lot of upside and a discounted ownership number.
