2 years agoThe Carolina Panthers have some urgency to trade for Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield soon so that he can get some time in minicamp with the team. Trade talks between the two teams continue with mandatory minicamps beginning on Tuesday, according to sources, but the main issue remains Mayfield's salary and how much the teams will pay. As of right now, Sam Darnold will enter the regular season as the starter over rookie Matt Corral. Acquiring Mayfield would be an upgrade at the position and be good news for the rest of the team's offensive weapons. Mayfield played most of last year with a torn left labrum, but when healthy, he has proven he can be an effective game manager.
