Panthers Re-Sign Ian Thomas For Three Years
3 years agoThe Carolina Panthers agreed to re-sign tight end Ian Thomas to a three-year contract worth $16.5 million on Friday, according to a source. He'll receive $6.435 million in the first year and $8 million fully guaranteed. Thomas has 38 total receptions in the last two seasons but is one of the better blocking tight ends in the league. The 25-year-old wasn't fantasy relevant at all in 2021, as he totaled just 18 catches for 188 yards and one touchdown on 30 targets in 17 games. Carolina will hang onto a core player on offense, though. Because he's more of a blocker than a pass-catcher, fantasy managers shouldn't be very interested in Thomas in 2022 drafts.
