Panthers To Make Aggressive Offer For Deshaun Watson
3 years agoThe Carolina Panthers will make an "aggressive" offer for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson as soon as Watson waives his no-trade clause for them to negotiate with the Texans, according to a league source. An issue with having the clause waived is not anticipated. The Panthers were ready to trade for the 26-year-old last offseason before reports surfaced of 22 lawsuits and 10 criminal complaints of sexual misconduct against him. A grand jury voted on Friday not to indict Watson on criminal charges, which will increase interest from many teams in addition to the Panthers. The Seattle Seahawks are also expected to make a run at Watson after trading Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos this week. The New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns are also reportedly interested in Watson.
