2 years agoCarolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said he won't make a "major decision" on any position, particularly between quarterbacks Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold, until after the Aug. 19 preseason game against the New England Patriots. "I'm not putting a timetable on the quarterback position until after we get back from the Patriots week," Rhule said. "The Patriots week is a true litmus test for us. That will really show us where guys are." Mayfield began Saturday's scrimmage with the first team, but the two took equal repetitions with the first- and second-team offense and neither QB had a decisive advantage at the end of the day. Neither signal-caller has separated himself so far in the QB competition this summer, which has to be considered a disappointment for Mayfield.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
