Pat Freiermuth Dealing With Hamstring Injury
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth (hamstring) is dealing with a hamstring injury at training camp. Freiermuth left Thursday's practice early with some lower body tightness and also sat out Friday with his hamstring issue. It doesn't sound like his injury is very serious, but the Steelers are likely to play it safe with their starting tight end and hold him out for a few days. The 23-year-old exceeded expectations in his rookie season in 2021, going for 60 catches on 79 targets for 497 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 games (nine starts). Even though Pittsburgh's quarterback situation isn't ideal in the wake of Ben Roethlisberger's retirement, Freiermuth should be a nice safety blanket underneath and a solid red-zone target, giving him low-end TE1 fantasy value.
