Patrick Corbin Honors Skaggs Before Dominating Marlins
5 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Patrick Corbin, wearing the number 45 instead of his usual 46 in honor of his friend the late Tyler Skaggs, went seven innings and allowed just one run to the Miami Marlins Tuesday. He also had to weather a third inning rain delay, but ultimately walked none and struck out seven. Corbin left with a 2-1 lead but was only got a no-decision for his efforts, leaving him with a 7-5 record as his ERA fell to 3.55. After a bump in the road in late May and early June, the 29-year-old lefty is back on track and has reestablished his value as one of the better starting pitching options in fantasy.
