Patrick Corbin Named Opening Day Starter For The Nats
3 years agoWashington Nationals pitcher Patrick Corbin will be the team's Opening Day starter when they host the Mets on Thursday, April 7. Coming off a truly horrendous season in which he led the majors in losses (16), earned runs (111) and home runs allowed (37), the 32-year-old southpaw is looking to bounce back in 2022. He's had an excellent spring so far, posting a 0.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 10:2 K:BB through nine innings (two starts) of Grapefruit League play. He's a low-risk dart throw in fantasy, considering it shouldn't take much to improve on his ugly 5.82 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 143:60 K:BB over 171 2/3 innings from last season.
