6 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Patrick Corbin was solid if unspectacular in his debut with the team, allowing two runs on seven hits in six innings, walking two and striking out four to help defeat the New York Mets 6-5 on Sunday. Corbin exited with a 5-2 lead, but the Nationals bullpen could not hold it, leaving the lefty with a no-decision as Washington needed a Trea Turner walk-off homer to get in the win column for the first time in 2019. Corbin, who signed a six-year, $140 million contract in December, is looking to build on an impressive 3.15 ERA and 2.47-FIP 2018 campaign with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Sunday was a decent start to his season.--Nathaniel Green
