6 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Patrick Corbin allowed three runs in six innings against the New York Mets on Saturday, receiving a no-decision in Washington's 6-5 loss. Unfortunately for Corbin, the Mets teed off for two no-doubt home runs in the sixth inning (of a game with seven total homers, three of them off Corbin), marring an otherwise strong performance in which he struck out nine against one walk and six hits. Nonetheless, this start was much more in line with Corbin's 30.8 K% from last season, as the lefty had already exceeded his four strikeouts from his season debut by the end of the second inning in this one. It's the Pittsburgh Pirates in D.C. next as Corbin looks to continue or improve on his solid start to the 2019 campaign.--Nathaniel Green
