4 years agoLos Angeles Angels pitcher Patrick Sandoval has been optioned to the alternate training site on Wednesday. The 23-year-old made his first start of the season in Tuesday's 10-2 victory against the Mariners, as the left-hander went four innings and allowed just one earned run while striking out four batters and surrendering four hits in the contest. In a corresponding move, the Angels recalled right-hander Luke Bard from the alternate site. Sandoval's demotion may suggest that starting pitcher Julio Teheran (illness) is close to rejoining the Angels rotation.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
