Patrick Wisdom Exits Game After Collision
3 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Patrick Wisdom exited the team's game against the Milwaukee Brewers after a collision at first base in the bottom of the second inning. Cubs starter Jake Arrieta fielded a ground ball hit by the Brewers' Tyrone Taylor and threw to Wisdom at first. Arrieta's throw pulled Wisdom into the base path, and he collided with Taylor. Replays show part of Wisdom's face colliding with Taylor's upper left arm and shoulder area. The infielder stayed on the ground for a moment before sitting up. He exited the game under his own power. Taylor Gushue entered the game for the Cubs at first base. Wisdom had two hits, two RBI and a run scored before exiting. He's collected 11 home runs in 97 plate appearances so far this season. Anthony Rizzo, who has been bothered by a sore back, is hoping to return to first base in a couple of days.
