Patriots, Texans Exchange Draft Picks In Trade
3 years agoThe New England Patriots traded their fifth-round draft pick this year to the Houston Texans on Monday in exchange for sixth- and seventh-round picks, according to sources. The Patriots are familiar with the Texans front office, as general manager Nick Caserio worked for the Patriots for 20 years before moving to Houston. New England had two fifth-round picks in this year's draft before this trade, and they have only used six fifth-round selections since 2012. The Patriots aren't strangers to trading back at any point in the draft to accrue more picks, so this shouldn't come as a big surprise for the organization, and head coach Bill Belichick might not be done wheeling and dealing before or during the draft.
