Paul DeJong Gets Activated Sunday, Back In Starting Lineup
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals shortstop Paul DeJong is returning to the starting nine Sunday against Cincinnati, a day earlier than projected. DeJong has been out of the mix since July 29 due to a positive COVID-19 test and prior to his absence, he went 4-for-17 at the plate with one home run. His activation brings the Cardinals as close to having their regular lineup as they’ve had in nearly a month, with Tommy Edman likely to be bumped off of the shortstop spot. DeJong is a medium-sized season-long fantasy asset with some considerable upside, as well as being an intriguing DFS play Sunday against right-hander Tyler Mahle.
