3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals shortstop Paul DeJong will begin Saturday's game on the bench. DeJong is hitting .201 with a .292 on-base percentage, 16 home runs, and three stolen bases in 332 plate appearances this season. He's getting the day off with Edmundo Sosa stepping at shortstop against the Pittsburgh Pirates and left-handed starter Dillon Peters. Sosa is batting seventh against Peters. The 25-year-old is hitting .257 with a .327 on-base percentage in 213 plate appearances this season. He's also collected three home runs and three stolen bases.
