2 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals activated first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and third baseman Nolan Arenado from the restricted list on Thursday, and they'll be available to play on Friday in the series opener against the Washington Nationals after they were unavailable to play in the two-game series in Toronto this week against the Blue Jays because of their vaccination status. Goldschmidt has been a National League MVP candidate this year and has homered in four straight games. In three games after the All-Star break, Arenado has gone 5-for-14 (.357) with three doubles and a run scored.
