Paul Goldschmidt Reaches Three Times Monday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt got on base three times during Monday's 5-2 defeat against the New York Mets. The 34-year-old was 2-for-5, both singles, with one walk. It brought Goldschmidt's average up to .259, and he's getting on base at a .348 clip. However, his OPS is a lowly .676 as he's still searching for his first home run. Goldschmidt hasn't hit less than 31 HRs over his last four full seasons, so the power drought is surprising. Even with the goose egg in that department, he's still providing value with his two stolen bases and eight runs scored across 15 games. It's too early for fantasy managers to panic, and the veteran should still rack up at least 20 home runs by season's end.
