Pedro Baez, Joe Kelly Nearing Respective Returns

4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitchers Pedro Baez (groin) and Joe Kelly (shoulder) are both approaching a return to the club’s bullpen as they work their way back with live bullpen sessions. Baez is slated to throw a bullpen Thursday, with Kelly having thrown one Tuesday. Both are on track to face hitters prior to their activation, which should allow them to seamlessly slot back into their roles in the Dodgers relief corps among activation. Baez owns a 3.97 ERA across 11 appearances, while Kelly has yet to yield a run through 6 1/3 frames, but he faces the prospect of a suspension from this year's incident with the Astros. Both are sound hold options in front of closer Kenley Jansen over the final month when healthy and active.--Jesse Borek
