Pedro Leon Dealing With Facial Fracture
2 years agoHouston Astros outfield prospect Pedro Leon (face) suffered a facial fracture after being hit in the face by a fastball last weekend, but according to the team, he will not require surgery. Leon will go on the minor league injured list. The team's No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, is hitting .237/.370/.452 with an .822 OPS, 14 home runs, 53 RBI, 53 runs scored and 32 stolen bases in 395 plate appearances over 90 games at Triple-A Sugar Land in 2022. The 24-year-old has been a standout at the top minor league level, but this injury could prevent him from earning his first call-up to the major leagues later this season. Leon should already be a name to know in dynasty/keeper leagues with above-average bat speed, plus raw power and plus speed.
