4 years agoCincinnati Reds right-handed pitcher Pedro Strop left Friday’s contest against Milwaukee early due to a groin ailment. Manager David Bell announced Saturday that Strop could miss an extended period of time due to the injury, zapping the little season-long fantasy intrigue that he possessed. After years of being a stalwart in the Cubs’ bullpen, Strop walked six of the first 15 batters that he faced in 2020, and with the Cincinnati relief corps having bigger names ahead of him in terms of role, his path to being rostered was diminished anyway. His absence could force Michael Lorenzen and Lucas Sims to take increased late-inning duties.--Jesse Borek
