3 years agoNew York Mets' first baseman Pete Alonso (hand) exited Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres after being hit in the right hand with a pitch. He was struck in the right hand on a check swing during his first plate appearance on Tuesday. The 27-year-old was replaced by J.D. Davis in the top of the second inning. The severity of Alonso's hand injury is unknown at this time, and he's considered day-to-day. Alonso will undergo x-rays after the game, and the Mets should provide an update once the results are in. Davis would see an uptick in playing time if Alonso is forced to miss any games. Stay tuned.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
