4 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso (hand) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a right hand sprain, the team announced on Twitter. It was yet another blow for a New York squad that has been ravaged by injuries this year, as they now have seven of the nine players from their Opening Day lineup on the injured list. Alonso had started in each of the team's first 36 games this season, slashing .236/.336/.433 with six home runs, 19 RBI and 21 runs scored.
