4 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso is not in the lineup for the Mets game against San Diego and righty Yu Darvish on Thursday evening. Alonso came off of the injured list this past Monday after recovering from a right wrist sprain. Because he skipped a rehab assignment, the Mets are simply giving the slugger a day off in an effort to avoid his reinjuring the wrist. It is likely Alonso will have days off more frequently while he continues his return from the injury. That said, he should be available off the bench on Thursday. Alonso should remain active in leagues that lock lineups on a weekly or semi-weekly basis. Managers in daily leagues should make necessary adjustments to replace Alonso on Thursday.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
