3 years agoNew Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael will remain in the position, according to a source. The Saints interviewed several offensive coordinator candidates, but they ultimately came back to Carmichael as the best option on their staff. It means more continuity for new head coach Dennis Allen. Carmichael has been the team's offensive coordinator for 13 seasons, albeit with heavy input from former head coach Sean Payton. He called plays occasionally, but he'll now be running the offensive show with Payton gone. The New Orleans offense ranked 28th in yards and 19th in points in 2021 while starting four different quarterbacks. Jameis Winston is a free agent, so if he does not re-sign, the Saints could go with Taysom Hill as their starter in Week 1.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
