Pete Crow-Armstrong To Miss A Week Or Two
2 years agoChicago Cubs outfield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong (hand) suffered a hand injury in the minor leagues and is expected to miss a week or two, according to a source. The injury isn't too serious, but the Cubs' No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, will have to sit out a bit at High-A South Bend. The 20-year-old hit .354/.443/.557 with a 1.000 OPS, seven home runs, 27 RBI, 39 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 38 games for Single-A Myrtle Beach before being promoted to South Bend, where he's gone just 7-for-38 (.184) with two homers and 10 strikeouts in his first nine games. The left-hander hits line drives all over the diamond and has excellent on-base skills and plus speed, so he should eventually be a starting center fielder and top-of-the-order hitter in the big leagues.
