Peter Alonso Hits Three Homers On Saturday
6 years agoNew York Mets prospect first baseman Peter Alonso has been shooting up dynasty league rankings this season, and it’s no secret why. After earning a promotion to Triple-A Las Vegas by slashing .314/.440/.573 (1.012 OPS) with 15 home runs, 42 runs scored, and 52 RBI across 65 games for Double-A Binghamton, Alonso seems to be picking up where he left off. On Saturday, he homered three times – his first three homers at this level. He owns a .300/.417/.633 (1.050 OPS) slash line through eight games and 36 plate appearances for the 51's. Alonso reportedly won’t be called up to the Majors under any circumstances this season, which makes sense considering the Mets continue to sink and he isn’t on the 40-man roster yet. An early-mid 2019 call seems like the most realistic scenario. Because of that, Alonso doesn’t have any value in redraft leagues but remains a must-hold in dynasty and some deeper keeper formats.
