3 years agoRe-acquiring his championship belt in interim form, Petr Yan defeated Cory Sandhagen via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46) on Saturday to earn the interim championship to sit in place of injured champion Aljamain Sterling. In 25 minutes of championship action, Yan collected 149 significant strikes (158 total strikes) while stuffing five of Sandhagen's six takedown tries. With the victory, Yan has set up a rematch with Sterling, against whom he lost the title to in their first matchup due to an illegal knee.--Matt Bricker - RotoBaller
