4 years agoWashington Football Team running back Peyton Barber handled 14 carries for 23 yards and scored a touchdown in a win over the Steelers on Monday. Barber saw a season-high in carries as starter Antonio Gibson (toe) left the game in the first quarter. If early reports are accurate, Gibson won't be back for a game against the 49ers next week which would make Barber an attractive waiver wire addition. The 26-year-old had been used as a change-of-pace runner to Gibson so even though J.D. McKissic will be involved, Barber should be in line to handle the bulk of the carries in Gibson's absence.
