Phil Hughes Throws Four Innings In Triple-A
7 years agoMinnesota Twins right-hander Phil Hughes (oblique) threw 50 pitches over four innings for Triple-A Rochester on Saturday. The veteran hurler opened the season on the 10-day disabled list after developing an oblique injury during spring training. He is next scheduled to make a Class A Advanced start against Fort Myers on April 5. If that goes well, Hughes could be in line to be recalled to make a start for the Twins on April 11, when they will need a fifth starter. Hughes pitched just 53 2/3 innings for the Twins in 2017 due to an assortment of injuries.
