7 years agoJon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that the Philadelphia Phillies have had open dialogue with free-agent starting pitcher Jake Arrieta. A fit makes sense, as the Phillies have the money to spend and could use a veteran like Arrieta to help mentor a young clubhouse. The Phillies front office is also filled with former Orioles executives who know the right-hander from his time with Baltimore. The impasse right now seems to be that the Phillies prefer a shorter deal than Arrieta is seeking.
