4 years agoUpdating a previous report, the Philadelphia Phillies placed third baseman Scott Kingery and relievers Hector Neris, Tommy Hunter and Ranger Suarez on the COVID-19 injured list. Players can be placed on the new injured list if they test positive, show symptoms or have come into contact with an infected person, so it is not confirmed that all four have the virus. However, if anyone has the virus, they will be significantly behind the curve with other players beginning MLB's summer camps this week. Manager Joe Girardi echoed concerns from other managers that anyone not training will need about three weeks to ramp up. If they are not ready by Opening Day, expect relievers Adam Morgan and Nick Pivetta to see save chances early, with Jean Segura and top prospect Alec Bohm getting repetitions at third.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
