Phillip Evans Signs Minor League Deal With Yankees
3 years agoThe New York Yankees signed free-agent third baseman Phillip Evans to a minor league deal on Tuesday. Evans spent the 2021 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, slashing .206/.312/.299 with five home runs and 16 RBI in 247 plate appearances over 76 games. The 29-year-old spent his first two big-league seasons with the New York Mets, and he has a career .231/.331/.319 slash line with only six home runs and 27 RBI in 353 plate appearances over 121 games in his four seasons. Evans will provide organizational depth at the hot corner in 2022.
