3 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Phillips Valdez was forced into early action Friday after Eduardo Rodriguez left with migraine symptoms, and he came through in a big way, throwing three shutout innings allowing only one hit and one walk while striking out seven New York Yankees. Valdez has just one save and two holds in 21 appearances on the season, but this performance displays that he would become much more interesting if he were to inherit a bigger role.
