Pierre Strong Jr. In Competition For No. 4 RB Job
2 years agoNew England Patriots rookie running back Pierre Strong Jr. hasn't really found his footing yet in training camp and remains stuck in a competition for the No. 4 running back job, not the No. 3 spot like most people were expecting. Strong carried the ball seven times for 23 yards in Friday's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, while J.J. Taylor rushed for 33 yards on six carries and also came through with an impressive blitz pickup. Strong became a little more intriguing as a late-round flier in deep fantasy leagues when James White announced his retirement, but the rookie is still buried on the RB depth chart behind Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson and Ty Montgomery. The fourth-round pick should only be taken in dynasty/rookie drafts this fall.
