Pirates Agree With First-Rounder Termarr Johnson
2 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates agreed with infielder Termarr Johnson, the No. 4 pick in this year's draft, to an over-slot deal worth $7,219,000 on Friday. Johnson had one of the best overall hit tools of any high school position-player prospect this year. The 18-year-old is likely to be a second baseman at the next level while standing at just 5-foot-8. Despite his small stature, Johnson projects for at least average power at the keystone in the long term. He won't develop much more physically, though, and he's not much of a threat to steal bases.
