3 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates claimed right-hander Tyler Beede off waivers on Thursday, according to sources. Beede was designated for assignment by the San Francisco Giants on May 5, and he was a former first-round pick out of Vanderbilt back in 2014. The 28-year-old made 22 starts for the Giants in 2019, but he's made only seven relief appearances for San Francisco since then. In 9 2/3 innings of relief for the Giants this year, Beede allowed five earned runs on 14 hits while walking six and striking out four over six outings. In Pittsburgh, he could have a shot at returning to a starting role, although he won't be worth a look in standard-sized fantasy leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
