7 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates designated relief pitcher Enny Romero for assignment on Sunday to make room for starting pitcher Nick Kingham on the active roster. Romero was claimed off of waivers by the Pirates a little over two weeks ago and appeared in just two games with the team. The southpaw struck out five and allowed five runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks in his time with Pittsburgh. Another team may claim Romero based on his strikeout potential alone, as he posted a career-high 26.5 percent strikeout rate with the Washington Nationals last year and sits at 23.7 percent for his career.--Matt Wilkes
