Preston Brown Hopes To Re-Sign
7 years agoBuffalo Bills impending free-agent linebacker Preston Brown, who led the NFL with 144 tackles in 2017, would like to re-sign with the team. "In the exit meeting [after Buffalo's playoff loss to Jacksonville], coach made it sound like they wanted me back," Brown told ESPN. "He said some things that sounded like that. But you never know what’s going to happen during free agency. I would love to go back to Buffalo. That’s the No. 1 choice for me." Brown attributes his uptick in production in 2017 to his decision to shed around 10 pounds to help him play faster. He did it by cleaning up his diet and hiring a personal chef. He was on the field for 1,098 of 1,108 defensive snaps last year and led the team's defense by playing 99.4 percent of the defensive snaps in 2016. He played in 98.2 percent of the snaps in 2015 and 93.8 percent of the snaps in 2014. Brown has played in all 64 regular season games since he entered the NFL and has started every game but two since his first two months as a rookie. The Bills would be wise to try to bring back the leader on the interior of their defense. Returning to Buffalo would probably be the best thing for Brown's fantasy value in IDP leagues, too.
