Preston Williams Helps Fumble Away Another Miami Loss
5 years agoMiami Dolphins wide receiver Preston Williams had six receptions in a 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Williams led all receivers with 82 yards and his eight targets on the day were behind only Devante Parker’s 10, with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick looking to him on multiple plays down the field, including a 35-yard reception in the first quarter. A critical fumble marred his day though, with Williams coughing up the ball deep in Miami territory midway through the fourth quarter, while Buffalo led 17-14. The Bills then took just three plays to make it 24-14 on a Cole Beasley touchdown, marking the beginning of the end of the Dolphin’s chance to earn their first victory of the year. Williams has a limited ceiling on a bad Miami team but is continuing to get a high volume of Miami’s offense, with his 575 air yards representing the 23rd-highest total in the league. Williams and the Dolphins will face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, whose defense is allowing the 12th-most points to wide receivers so far in 2019, putting Williams in the conversation as a WR4.
